A collaboration between Paratissima and COFFI, Berlin’s Italian Film and Art Festival will take place in 2015, the year of Torino incontra Berlino. COFFI’s puropose is to spread and to promote Italian culture abroad. The festival aims at fostering integration and creatig a place of artistic experimentation between German and Italian culture. More than 20.000 Italians now live in Berlin.
Paratissima hosted the Trasmutazioni exhibition in Berlin lest year and this year COFFI will “return” to Italy, in Turin’s scenario. This exchange aims at creating a new chance for Italian artists that moved abroad and whose art developed during the years as part of the European art scene.
COFFI presents Ilaria Biotti and Stefania Migliorati, who will be representing Italian artists abroad. Both Biotti and Migliorati will exhibit their works inspired by Berlin’s social environment. Their works reveal a great interest in the study of the notion of space. Berlin’s festival, now hosting many different sections, from performing arts to the culianry field was origially intended as a film festival. The documentary I come Isgrò, directed by Riccardo Cannella and Nunzio Chingheri, who lives in Germany, will be representing the cinema section.
During the event, the COFFI staff will be giving information to other artists about the format of the festival and how to subscribe to the 2016 edition.
The collaboriation is curated by Lea Brugnoli and Katharina Good.
