Crotona On The Move – travelling pictures was created in 2011 by ONTHEMOVE Cultural Association. Since the start of Crotona On The Move, the works of many internationally acclaimed photographers came to Crotona. The festival attracts the attention of professionals thanks to its international vocation.
During the festival’s last edition, more than 27.000 visitors came to Crotona in order to see the works of the 28 photographers participating to the exhibition.The works exhibited have increased year after year in number and quality as well as the audience participation. We aim at improving ourselves constantly thanks to the work and the commitment of our staff. Crotona OTM is organised in collaboration with Studio Matera.
The year 2015 marks the beginnig of the collaboration between Paratissima and Crotona On The Move: both events are interested in contemporary languages, innovation and vitality. This collaboration aims at giving a contribution to the development of mutual activities, creating a geographic and communicational bond. The final intent is to create a new environment where an actual cultural sharing is possible.
The first step of this new collaboration will be Paratissima 2015, where Crotona On The Move will participate to the exhibition with projects by Philip Toledano and Mattia Insolera.
These works are very different from each other but they are both aiming at discovering the unknown. While Toledano adopts an introspective look, Insolera researches the various cultures of the Mediterranean area.
