Medina Zabo is an italian artist based in etruria; graduated in communication studies at university of perugia with a degree thesis in semiotics, thereafter specialized at ied_european institute of design in rome. she had been working for many years as a journalist, interested above all in environmental reports and social aspects. in 2012 medina quit her job and retreated to the etrurian country, devoting to the study of techniques of antique restoration and to the observation of organic materials phenomena.
for six months she has been living with a colony of swarming bees in the dining room of her house. that experience has been drawing her artistic research to the observation and the study of bees language and similar features in the humans behaviour, so far carried it out nowadays. she studied art at the fine arts academy “pietro vannucci” in perugia, bestowed with the “chen ming” award for best students since the first year of the course., and at the fine arts academy in rome.
