After Turin, Skopje and Lisbon, Paratissima has expanded to Cagliari. The first edition of this event was held during the peak of summer from 5 to 7 August 2016 in the evocative spaces of the Lazzaretto – a tourist destination par excellence!.
Paratissima Cagliari – Waves of Art is part of the Paratissima network – an open system that has developed out of our experiences in Turin over many years and which is constantly evolving. With the Turin event now in its twelfth edition, Paratissima is looking to the future and expanding its borders. It has already seen an organic international expansion with events in Macedonia and Portugal, and has now widened its scope of activities within Italy to include a Sardinian event.
82 emerging artists and creatives (35 painters, 13 sculptors, 10 illustrators, 12 photographers, 11 artisans/designers) participated in the event held over the first weekend of August 2016. In addition, the event welcomed:
- 4 art galleries – Bartoli-Felter Foundation; Esdé Gallery; Macca Gallery; Il Salotto Dell’ Arte
- 2 special projects, curated by Spazio (IN)Visible association and by the art critic, curator and journalist Roberta Vanali
- 1 special guest: Tonino Casula – artist and Sardinian experiementer of international fame
It also featured important collaborations with local institutions such as: Casa Falconieri, Urban Center, Campidarte, the Academia d’Arte of Santa Caterina, the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Cagliari and the Liceo Artistico di Quartu.
