THE SOUND OF SILENCE
curated by Noemi Aiolo and Cristina Derusticis
There is always something to see, something to hear
John Cage
Trying to find a definition of silence is an oxymoron, a paradox, because too many words would be used to express its essence.
A single, objective definition simply doesn’t exist. Silence is much more than simply absence of noise. Silence can’t be created, it just happens.
The german word Stille, which refers to sensations such as calm, peace, calm, can probably be close to the idea of silence.
Hermetic images, suggestives and evocatives, will be trying to put something intangible into shape.
These works ask to the audience to give up logic and senses in order to establish a mute dialogue with artworks, where silence is the key.
The Sound of Silence is an isolated and voiceless dimension, an introspective place where it is possible to hear what silence has to tell us.
